June 6, 2020 Protestors participated in a paddle out to protest police brutality and honor black lives at Rockaway Beach, New York. I was honored to photograph this event and have some of my photos published on CNN and AM New York. This peaceful protest turned out to be a beautiful and calm testament to community and coming together as one. More than 300 people showed up. Some carried homemade signs while others grabbed surfboards and took to the water. NYPD boats kept a presence in the water to ensure a peaceful demonstration.
